Volunteer at SASS to help empower women who have lost a part of themselves. SASS is an amazing support group for the women in our community. Come join and be part of this amazing team and become a beacon of empowerment and change.
One of the more well-known benefits of volunteering is the impact on the community. Volunteering allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. Many volunteering opportunities provide extensive training. Volunteerism is indeed the fuel to the fire change.
SASS is currently looking for women aged 18+ who live in Cornwall or the immediate area to work our chat tool service on weekday evenings and on the weekend.
The volunteer will be responsible for responding to chat requests on our chat tool during their shift. These chats can range from looking for information, to requests for services, and possibly crisis chats.
Volunteers will also be required to answer requests for accompaniment to the police station or hospital (in Cornwall) that come through the chat tool.
If you're interested, please reach out to Devin Couchman, our volunteer coordinator at 613-932-1755 ext. 26 or volunteer@sassforwomen.ca
“Taking part in such an amazing agency has been so rewarding. The staff really makes you feel as though you are part of one big great family thriving to make the community a safer place. Volunteering for SASS is a great opportunity to make a difference through empowerment, education and compassion.”
